Week 6 #15

After reading several of the suggested articles, in addition to the many articles I have read over the past couple of years, I see the impact of web 2.0 on libraries to be as big as the introduction to computer technologies was in the 1980's. In many ways the paradigm is shifting in even more fundamental ways. Computers in libraries just helped us do what we had always done faster and easier. Web 2.0 changes how we ARE, not just how we act. The shift from individual to networked community and how the individual plays within that environment is a profound change. As a librarian with 32 years of experience, I am excited about these changes and anxious as to how I will adapt to this really really different environment. I can learn the tools but can I change the way I think and work?
